Ascent Trip ReportI hiked this one with my friends Jenn, Kevin, & Erica. It was a great hike outside of hot Las Vegas. It was only about 80 up here. The trail from the trailhead to Harris Saddle is an old 4WD road, so it was a pretty easy hike to that point. The ridge heading east to the summit has a use trail that is fairly easy to follow to the knob below the summit. From the knob west of the summit to the summit, there isn't really a use trail, but it is very easy to find your way. The footing is loose and steep, but I never felt unsafe. The view from the top is amazing. You can see from beyond Mt. Charleston to Red Rock and most of Las Vegas. A great way to spend half a day away from the city! Oh yeah, the road up sucks! 4WD is unnecessary, but you will need clearance to get over some rocks.
