Ascent Trip Reportbex & i take the bus from San Jose via Cerro de Muerte, rest stop with the guy with the stroke? vs other... then to San Isidro & transfer to San Gerardo. we register at Chirripo National Park Headquarters and pay the fee. we find a place to stay & eat at Ulyssess's place, Aubergie ?. we start off at 0600 in the heat & humidiity, resting at ?. great bird watching but very hot & humid. we reach the sub-alpine zone with the temps dropping fast and stay at Crestones Lodge. very cold nite with high humidity, very damp & about 35 degree, a touch of frost during the evening. we watch Under 18 World Cup match with the tico rangers. we head off to the peak with head torches about 4 am... reaching the summit about 8 am. we get glimpses of both the Atlantic & Pacific Oceans! we can see down to the Osa Peninsula. we spend a nice decent hiking & birding around the Crestones ridge. one more nite, some dried out gear & then a hard hike down to Ulysses for a casado!
