Ascent Trip Report

Windfall Canyon road (signed from US 50) is a major gravel road that has been extended past where the USGS quad shows. You can follow it to intersect Rocky Canyon and the summit road at just below 7800' - although from the looks of it I wouldn't want to drive it when there is active mine traffic. Weekends are probably best.

You can then follow the mapped (less good) road up Rocky Canyon and to the summit. On this date we used a shovel to get through a snow bank blocking the road at just below 8400' and stopped driving at the next one at 8650' or so, walking from there.

Lots of private mine property, but no closed gates or negative signage via the road route we took.
