Ascent Trip Report

After the long drive on dirt roads to get here, we stepped out of our Subaru not really knowing where here was due to thick fog. It felt like Scotland, but we knew to follow the fence line southwest of the end u turn in the road. There was a bit of a used track on the west side, however, our pants became very wet with dew. We passed the drop off that comes up to the fence and knew we were almost there. We turned a bit to the west and saw a small cemetery with a windsock near it. Just past that was a large rock, the highpoint stone. This area is on the edge of a large butte, and we would have loved to see the view, but rather we could only see maybe one hundred feet, so this highpoint was a bit disappointing. However, this was our first Montana highpoint, which is quite exciting seeing as I will be living here in a few months time!
