Ascent Trip ReportTake highway 50 east from Fallon to the junction with NV Hwy 722, follow 722 winding up to Carroll Summit (a Lander County road sign and cattle guard marks the summit). Just east of the summit on the left side(north) is a dirt road turnoff-park here. Walk the dirt road up to about 8300ft following a fenceline. Then head cross-country sidehilling around the southwest side of point 8777 to a ridgeline where you will encounter a fenceline which you follow up to point 8633. From point 8633 the route to Bald Mountain summit is clear, descend to another saddle at 8200ft and climb directly to the summit.
