Ascent Trip ReportFirst snowshoe ever! Very exciting and cold. Lots of snow on the ground. Broke trail most of the way up. Didn't know if I'd be able to keep up but I did fine. Really beautiful, untouched, snow covered trees. All I could think was "winter wonderland". Top was amazing- Fire tower in middle, surrounded by frozen tree branches everywhere. Very sunny, but still windy and really cold! Met some very friendly and "interested" men on the descent. Hand warmers saved my life, thanks Dad. Bill took us a little off the beaten path, but no one seemed to notice until we were up to our knees in snow for about half an hour. A great hike! Loved it so much, decide to do it again the next day.
