Ascent of Boundary Peak on 2010-05-14
|Date:||Friday, May 14, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Motorized Transport to Trailhead:||4x4 Vehicle|
| Elevation:||13140 ft / 4005 m|
Ascent Trip ReportWe drove up to the trailhead from NV Route 6, but snow stopped us from driving further than the Queen Mine, where we camped.
Along the early route were patches of snow, nothing serious to walk across but it did hide the trail which we lost a few times on the way up and down.
From Trail Canyon Saddle the route becomes a slog up a scree slope. We were idiots and never went to the ridgeline, which meant climbing up two scree slopes.
Near the top we needed crampons as it was all snow, and coming down we stayed to the ridge which kept us off one of the scree slopes.
Overall, a beautiful mountain.
