Ascent Trip Report

What a sad state high point. The site is easy to find. At the Va-Ky state line on Hwy 160, you will find a gravel pull off on the left. There are two roads at the pull off. The road on the right is gravel and the wrong road. The road on the left is the correct road and is paved, though a bit rough. There is a small, faded sign that states the site is a FAA radar site. Follow the paved road up to the huge radar dome. The road turns to well maintained gravel. You come to a gate that was open on my trip. Within site of the gate is the summit covered in old radio buildings and antennas. The summit marker is to the left of an old fire tower. There is a monument in front of the marker noting the contributions of an individual to cable TV in Kentucky. No trails to hike. You need to send in a waiver to the property owner.
