Ascent Trip ReportFinally made it up Gothics. Everything had gotten wet, and it was really windy above the treeline. The rule of the day was that Paul had to keep his outer layer on, otherwise the weather would get nasty 5 minutes later. 50+ mph winds at the top. Kind of scary after never having experienced them before. There was still a lot of snow on the top. There are videos of Paul and I doing faceplants into the snow. Stopped at Beaver Meadow Falls on the way back. Took some HDR's of a swamp with Sawteeth and Colvin in the background. Made it back to AMR around 7:30, and talked with the gate guy's brother along the road. Saw a red fox with two kits hanging around someone's house. After a pit stop at the Pub, made it back to Potsdam around 10:30. Ubu and barbecued meatballs were consumed at Pete's apartment...
