Ascent Trip Report

Did Grand Loop route. This is an outstanding hike!

Contrary to what we read at
http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=25098 this hike is much more than a 500 foot elevation gain. We took Grand Loop to Deer Flat to Summit trail and then down via Juniper/Trail Through Time. This has about 2800 feet of up and down and is quite strenuous, but the views are outstanding and thanks to recent rains there were copious wildflowers. Only downside was it was a bit hazy and we couldn't quite see the Sierras.
