Ascent Trip ReportThis was the second peak on the day and the last of the 5 Catskill fire towers for the ADK Fire Tower Challenge (#24 for me overall). Found the trailhead easily and started the hike up the Spruceton Trail just before 1:00. It was a beautiful day for the most part, but some clouds did roll in for a bit. The trail was very easy to follow as it's just an old jeep road that's apparently still in use judging by the NYS Forest Ranger truck about a mile from the summit. The only thing to keep in mind is that the trail goes off to the right at 1.7 miles. The junction is marked so it's easy to see. The closer I got to the top, the more snow I started to see in the woods and on the trail. There wasn't really much left, just some patches here and there, but enough to be annoying when walking through. Saw a few other people on the summit and wanted to take a look around for a trail/herd path to the southwest peak but was running out of time and had dinner plans with friends. Would definitely do this hike again, just via a different route up.
