Ascent Trip ReportFirst find the minor road which joins Willerzie and Louette St. Pierre. Follow the road to it's highpoint where you won't now find the viewing tower of La Croix Scalle since it's been dismantled for safety reasons.. the foundations remain and look like a weird postmodern cross stalinist sculpture.
There are 2 candidates for HP. The highest spot height, according to the map, can be reached by continuing west (downhill) on the road from the monument to a sharp right bend where there is a junction with a muddy track on your left (running SW). Follow this (it seems possible to drive, the gate was open) to a junction of forest roads then turn right on to the Route Forestiere d'Houdremont. After 1km from the junction turn left up a rough side track and find the highest ground in the woods to the left.
The second alternative is in the woods behind the monument. Follow the track on the right (west) side of the summit area, then turn right at the junction of tracks. Somewhere in the woods to the left is another high point of similar height but it was not clear to me where the Belgian border ran, except to say that the higher ground may well have been in Belgium which would make this a slope point. I prefer the first alternative but both are well wooded in with no views.
