Ascent Trip ReportAnne and I did the loop counterclockwise going up Falling Waters. All the falls are gushing with the recent snow melt. Several blowdowns on the trail. It was a fantastic day to be on Franconia Ridge. We didn't see any clouds the whole day. Not many people seen until the Lafayette summit. But I think this is a good time of year to go as it was wasn't as crowded as during a summer day. We met a nice guy with his five-month old lab, doing her first 4k's. She was thrilled and pooped. We had a nice long break at the Greenleaf Hut before sliding down the slushy snow on Old Bridal Path. We started early enough so the snow was still hard on FW on the way up. Microspikes were useful but we saw a lot of bare booters. The slush on the way down wasn't great but we made it through alright. We ended the hike was tailgating in the parking lot. Instant food! A new tradition is borne! This was #8 and #9 for Anne! Wooo! She 18.8% done!
