Ascent Trip Report

Since this is also the Walker County, GA high point, there are several reports with directions available at

I parked at a Seventh-Day Adventist Church located directly across the road from the power cut. I walked through the woods just north of the power lines' clearing until the brush underneath them cleared out, then shifted back to following the clear-cut. There was not really a good crossing of Long Branch (about 250 ft. below the start point), but the situation is a little better as you go a couple hundred feet downstream (north). I stayed underneath the power lines to the ridgeline, as it was very clear near the edges and not too horribly steep. The view east from the very top was impressive, and there is a fairly large clearing with several candidate HP's. I walked around a little to make sure I hit it, then descended back down and across the creek back to the car. Total round trip hike was about 2.5 miles.
