Ascent Trip ReportThis "peak" is the result of my attempts to find the true highpoint of the French Department of Eure. In fact it is not a summit at all but a slope point since the ground continues to rise over the departmental boundary into Orne.
Drive north from the town of L'Aigle on the D919. About 4km before you get to Glos la Ferrière there is a farm on the right-hand side of the road called (and signposted) Les Bruyerès. On the S side of the farm there is no fence to stop access to field but be sensitive if there are crops growing. A more subtle access point is available a little south where the next road junction is on the opposite (W) side of the road. From there one can walk E into the trees and then hop a small burn (beware brambles) to get into the field. The whole area is flat and the boundary was not well marked. After some GPS comparisons I settled on the point marked here as as the highest on the boundary. This is some 100m E of the farm ie behind and slightly left as you look from the road.
