Ascent of West Mountain Peak on 2010-04-18| Others in Party: | Tim Newman
| | Date: | Sunday, April 18, 2010 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | West Mountain Peak | | Location: | USA-Utah | | Elevation: | 7680 ft / 2340 m |
Ascent Trip ReportThe road to the summit is easy terrain (most standard cars could make it most of the way and a high clearance vehicle could easily summit). The only thing to note is that there can be patches of snow on the road, even when none is visible on the peak because the road switches back up some north-facing canyons. Also, one should be aware that the road loses about 500' of elevation on the way up, adding significantly to the total climb.
