Ascent Trip Report

Hiked over Peak 3992 and then continued down to the 3992/3902 saddle where I left the old road and traversed across the large grassy face of 3902. I continued around and down to the Sugarloaf/3902 saddle where the grassy slopes ended and the forested slope began. Climbing up to the high point is on a thick forested slope that at one time may have had a trail. It was an easy bushwhack that was mostly just small fir trees. After tagging this summit I went back down to the Sugarloaf/3902 saddle and then climbed up and over the highpoint of point 3902. Point 3902 only has about 160 ft of prominence, so it doesn't count for anything. On the top of point 3902, I picked up a dirt bike trail heading east back down to the abandoned gated road. From the road, I dropped off to the north through a thinned forest to the road that I drove in on and then hiked the road back to my truck. Nice hike. Some great views of the Siskiyous to the south.
