Ascent Trip Report

This was a great trip, though it takes longer than one might think due to the terrain (creek bed with sand, rocks, and boulders, and rock scrambling with exposure). Since some of the scrambling moves are tight, I recommend a smaller, low-profile pack (and no poles).

Since the usual route attains the ridgeline at the summit west of Mescalito, be prepared for about a 250' drop and ascent to reach the peak - this drop and ascent is where virtually all of the serious (upper class 3) climbing is.
