Ascent Trip Report

I was on the fence whether to bring snow shoes, but I started to post hole after I turned off Snapper. There's a couple of feet (on average) of slushy snow snow all the way up Gorge Brook Trail. I used them for the whole ascent, until a few hundred yards from the summit. After this day's hot temperatures, I am not sure what's left though.

Great views of the Presidentials at the Summit. The Green Mountains were hazy.

Removed the snow shoes for the descent, which was over the ridge to the Carriage Road. Basically I post holed all the way down, that got a lot worse on Snapper. My knees felt it.

The weather was outstanding. I started out in light fabric shirt and I was a bit too warm. Still I kept my my pants on which is more than can be said of the dude who came up the trail in his underpants. No joke.
