Ascent Trip ReportANOTHER FLAT ONE.
From Fort Bend County Highpoint Rose and I drove southwest and found our way to Eagle lake on US #90A in Colorado County. As we entered Eagle Lake we made a left turn (south) on FM3013 and traveled a short distance to another left on the paved Hunt Road. We drove east-southeast for 1 1/2 mile to a left turn (turns to dirt here) then right (east-southeast again). At 3 miles from FM3013 you arrive at the Colorado/Wharton County Line ....... a County Line Road leads left (east-northeast), Hunt Road now continues straight ahead (east-southeast) as CO RD 244. The Highpoint is just inside the stripped-flat-dirt-field immediately to the left of CO RD 244 (at the corner). Again this is a flat table, I tramped the area.
We went back to FM3013 and continued south to FM102 to drive to the other highpoint candidate, a flat table that looked the same as the other. I walked the area with no real destination, everything is flat.
From here we traveled south to the Matagorda County Highpoint.
