Ascent Trip Report

On the drive home from Manzanillo, Mexico, we stopped in the Houston area to visit our son and his family, while there I decided to take in a few County High Points. The goal when we left this morning was six Counties.

From The Woodlands, north of Houston, we drove south on I45 then west on I10 to exit #740 (CR1463 and Pin Oak Road) and the town of Katy (Waller County), where we picked up #90A west. After about 6 miles we turned left (south) on Woods Road (becomes Jordan Road in Fort Bend County) , passed over I10 and crossed the signed Waller/Fort Bend County Line (about 2 miles from #90A), to the Fort Bend County Highpoint on the right (just past the first road on the right after the County Line, in the second grass fallowfield, an oil well is to the left of the Jordan Road)...... the Highpoint in the middle of a large grass fallowfield, about 200 yards from the road and I had to go thru a barbed wire fence in order to enter the field. No nearby residences to inquire about permission. I tramped the flat table the best I could and called it good.
From here we drove SW to Eagle Lake and on to our next County, Wharton County.
