Ascent Trip Report

Another (near) drive up. The church of St Martin de Chaulieu lies just below the summit, which is marked by a signboard proclaiming it's highpoint status and has an observation tower. The actual highpoint is over a gate in the field next door, maybe 20m away and 1m higher. If your conscience doesn't let you hop the gate just walk around the road. The access from the church turning left has no gate. The rest of the village consists of about 6 houses and another tower and the view is of the rich farmland which is responsible for some great ingredients in the famous cuisine of the area...the real highlight of the trip...
