Ascent Trip ReportPine Hill has been reduced in elevation by massive excavation. I stood on highest ground, took a waypoint, and based on the contours shown on the topo, I estimate maximum remaining elevation at about 270 feet. the original 360+ summit is now in the middle of flat sand. Looking south across Pine Hill Road at the 340 foot hill, it is obviously much higher than what's left of Pine Hill. In WV they engage in mountaintop removal; in NJ they engage in mountain removal. This same fate befell one of the original three Camden County highpoints. It was obliterated into a flat sand wasteland.
