Ascent Trip ReportNice climb up the Sunset Ridge Trail today. We stopped for a quick lunch at the Chin, then hiked down to the Adam's Apple where we turned around and headed south on the Long Trail. When we arrived at the summit station near the Nose, we were informed by a ranger that the Nose was closed due to microwave radiation from one of the towers up there, but she wouldn't try to stop us if we wanted to go for it. We had planned on doing the entire Mansfield ridge, but we noticed a thunderstorm coming in from the west and decided to get the hell out of there. We then made a hasty retreat down the Halfway House Trail back to Underhill State Park where we camped in one of the lean-tos for the night.
