Ascent Trip ReportHiked from Denning trailhead along the fisherman's path straight to the summit of Friday. Then looped back around, bagging Balsam Cap, Rocky and Lone. Long day (11 hours - 10:30A to 9:30P), but a good one. 3500 Club was out ahead of me and cut the trail along the Neversink to Rocky, but they didn't do Lone. I cut the trail from the Neversink/Rocky turnoff to Friday, then to Balsam Cap (last time someone was on those mountains was 2/22, and we had plenty of snow in the meantime), then to Rocky. Figured I wouldn't get Lone because it was getting dark and I was exhausted, but I saw a set of tracks break off the Rocky trail and head toward Lone just below the pine line, so I followed them. Bagged Lone and caught up to Drama and SoloJoe (from http://forums.adkhighpeaks.com), who were cutting the trail down Lone. Split shifts with them breaking the trail and made some new friends. It's amazing how headlamps and bushwhacking can bring people together.
