Ascent Trip Report

Much easier than it is hyped up to be. In fact, I found Chicken-Out Ridge to be one of the easiest parts of this hike, in large part because it is so fun. I never felt unsafe during this section, except for when someone above me kicked down a soccer ball-sized rock that went whizzing two feet past my head. The exposure is less intense than Katahdin's knife edge. The worst parts of this hike were the steep slogs at the beginning and end of the trail. Overall, a really fun and satisfying hike that is perfect for anyone who loves easy bouldering. I disagree with those who have said that this is a more difficult hike than Kings Peak or Mount Whitney - true, Borah is more "technical," but the endurance required for Kings Peak and Whitney is a much bigger deal, in my opinion.
