Ascent Trip Report

Me and a few colleagues had planned an outing in the Raoul-Blanchard area for a while and we had finally set it in motion. Three of us would leave very early monday morning, and the rest would join us in the field during the day.

Cristobal met me at my place around 4:00am. We packed up and drove all the way to the trailhead where we met Arnaud at 5:00am. We prepared and left the road around 5:30am and immediately noticed the logging traffic was heavy. We walked along the approach road for an hour and a half, covering about 7km, but looking at an approaching truck, we saw a pickup with its signal lights on just behind it. It stopped, and the man inside asked us who gave us the authority to be there. When we answered no-one, he told us we were trespassing and said we either hopped in the bed or he would call the police. He drove us back to the gate, and we had no other choice but to walk away. We then called our friends, told them what had just happened, and the consensus was to meet back at Gabriel B.'s place.

Arnaud left then because he only had the day to spend and Cristobal and I drove back to town.
