I'm not sure who would be reading this but if you are, here I am.

I've climbed for years, mostly rock, but as I am getting older I have fallen in love with alpine. I also grew up in an era where we didn't have social networking. Hence climbing meant, talking to a buddy or some stranger about a new route somewhere in a forest. Pulling out the atlas and guessing on the approach distances, (you know, by putting a string on the map where the trail was then measuring the string for distance.) Then heading out and getting there after bushwhacking everywhere and never finding a trail. Then finding that the route is totally different than described by your buddy.

Man have things changed. Thank you peakbagger and summitpost for taking the frustration out of it and opening doors of communication between climbers. I'm just doing my part to add to the info.

I hope I climb forever but die safely in my bed at home.
