Ascent Trip ReportThis was the first summit I ever climbed. It is a large hill overlooking the city of Cali, Colombia, and there is a giant statue of Jesus Christ on top. Apparently, it is traditional to hike up this peak on Ascension Day (May 7th in 1970), so there were lots of people hiking up with us. The route was easy hiking on grassy slopes, past pastures and small groves of trees. Our entire family made the hike, and we left directly from our house.
